世界保健機関(WHO)へロシアからH5N8型の鳥インフルエンザの感染が確認されたと報告があったそうです。鳥インフルエンザには種類がたくさんありますが、ほとんどの場合、糞や感染している家禽などに直接触らないと感染しないといわれています。また、今回感染が確認された以外の人には移っておらず、あまり心配する必要がなさそうですね。
しかし、新型コロナウイルスの際も初めて感染が確認された時はニュースでは30秒ほどしか取り上げられていませんでしたが、今では世界中で大混乱が起きるような事態になってしまっています。海外からの旅行者もいない中で、ロシアでの感染が世界に広がることはあまりないとは思いますが、きちんと手を洗ったりするなどの予防をしておいていても良いのではないかと思います。
Russia has reported the first detected case of H5N8 bird flu transmitting to a human to World Health Organisation (WHO). There are different types of bird flues, but most of them are transmitted to humans via touching to infected animals or their faeces, and the people interacted the patient with bird flu are not infected. From this, I think we can be a bit relieved.
However, when COVID-19 case was first detected, news (Japanese) was only referring to that case for 30sec, but now, the pandemic is leading the whole word to experience chaos. There are not many travellings happening so it will be unlikely that it will be spreading around, but we might as well wash hands properly (just like we do to prevent COVID-19).
