Pediatric cancer survivors often face cardiometabolic issues

Harvard Medical School and Boston Children's hospital suggested that most of the pediatric survivors experience endocrinopathies. There are side effects of treatments that elicit very quickly, and side effects that become problematic in few years time. Endocrinopathies are one of those later offset side effects. Not only endocrinopathies, but cancer treatments could cause growth hormone deficit as well.
Not many doctors have an idea of long term side effects, and therefore they do not explain possibilities to patients and their family. The report by Harvard medical school and Boston Children's Hospital recommended to go see the doctor for annual check up even if you are completely cured. This is important to prolong the life you have been saved by doctors, and I really hope further research into different long term side effects that pediatric cancer treatments could cause.
