24時間歩きマラソンでガン患者の追悼儀式 24H walkathon for survivor celebration
English follows Japanese.
American University in UAE held 24H walkathon for cancer patients. 67 patients, 6 different universities, 52 schools, 8 partnerships participated, and over 2000 people walked overnight. 24H walkathon expresses the idea of the painfulness of cancer does not stop and strengthens the loneliness of patients.
In Japan, there are much fewer people/organization who will actually initiate these events involving 2000 people for a cause. However, on the other side of Earth, there are people who are working for the cause a lot. I feel like Japanese society is making these active people hard to take some actions because they are feeling "judged." I really hope this society and culture changes so that many of us can work and do whatever thing we think we could do.
